My Tin Girls are an off shoot of the Tin Men Block, also known as the Oklahoma Boomer block. This quilt block was first published in 1898 by the Ladies Art Company.
The Ladies Art Company was founded in St. Louis in 1889. By 1897, it was a catalog with 400 different quilt blocks. It was the first business to sell quilt patterns by mail order. And, in 1898, they included the Tin Men block.
